Heading into 2021, DeliverEnd is looking to turn its success in the Indianapolis market into a launchpad to grow. With a successful proof of concept in hand, founder and CEO Nick Turner and his team plan to expand into more than 20 markets this year. The goal is to bring a better option for delivery to small businesses and consumers while offering the hard-hit gig economy workers a new opportunity to earn income safely.

DeliverEnd finds Success in Indianapolis

The idea for DeliverEnd came to Turner after listening to an account from a friend who was robbed while selling an item through an online marketplace. Turner did his research and found that attacks and robberies are too common for buyers and sellers in secondhand marketplaces like Craigslist and Facebook, leading him to seek a solution.

DeliverEnd brings much-needed layers of safety and protection to secondhand marketplace transactions by addressing the last-mile aspect and thus limiting opportunities for criminals. By creating an environment that offers protection and convenience for the buyers, sellers, and drivers, Turner and his team are poised to disrupt online marketplaces and change the shopping experience from dangerous to secure. DeliverEnd has been collaborating with Governor Holcomb to help “re-open” Indiana when COVID-19 disruptions are behind them while also shining a spotlight on black-owned businesses in the region.

Expansion and Growth on the Horizon

With more than 100,000 items delivered to-date, DeliverEnd sees its success in Indianapolis as the proof of concept it needs to expand beyond Indiana’s borders. In 2021, the company has plans to launch in 20 new cities, bringing its mission of marketplace safety to more regions of the United States. With the continued growth of e-commerce from small and medium businesses as well as secondhand marketplaces, this is just the beginning.

“The problems we’ve seen in Indianapolis when it comes to buying and selling through online marketplaces aren’t unique. The number of news stories across the United States and the world that tell us these transactions can be dangerous is staggering. We are focused on bringing DeliverEnd to as many communities as we can so we can help keep people safe,” says Bill Pirkle, Director of Marketing for DeliverEnd.

This growth isn’t just a distant dream: DeliverEnd is lining up its investors and has been attracting attention from venture capital firms in Silicon Valley and beyond to turn it into a reality. As a minority-owned company, DeliverEnd has seen increased interest in the form of mentorship and support from entrepreneurs of successfully launched start-ups. Turner has surrounded himself with leaders who can offer know-how on how to successfully scale rapidly and how to avoid potential pitfalls. These relationships will help him keep DeliverEnd growing — and possibly land a “Unicorn” designation in the process.

As part of this market growth, DeliverEnd looks to align itself with the Big Four secondary marketplace players: Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, OfferUp, and NextDoor. By making delivery an assumed part of a transaction on these platforms, DeliverEnd can become a natural extension of these shopping experiences nationwide.

DeliverEnd is set for its rapid scaling phase during 2021 and the conditions in the economy and beyond make their timing perfect — keep an eye on this company as a rising star in the tech industry.
